The Comfort Connection

The Comfort Connection is an adult day care/respite program.  It is a service designed for adults who are either physically or mentally impaired and require constant supervision.  Although designed primarily for our aging population, the program is available to adults of any age including those in the early stages of Alzheimer's.  The program will provide supervision along with increased social opportunities and assistance with daily living activities. One of the valuable components of the program is that it will provide family caregivers who are frequently responsible for 24 hours per day/7 days per week care, with intervals of relief from the demands of the care giving role.  This will allow the caregiver to have some measure of personal time that can be used for shopping, recreation or taking care of his or her own medical needs.

The Comfort Connection is sponsored by six Christian churches in the Englewood/North Port are.  The program operates every Friday from 10:00 AM until 3:00 PM (lunch is served) in the Education Building at the Englewood United Methodist Church, Room 300 on the 2nd floor (accessible by elevator).  Additional information about the program can be obtained by calling (941) 474-5588.
