ALTAR GUILD
Service
on the Altar Guild is a dedicated commitment of the life and work of the Church.
Those engaged in it are appointed by the Rector, are responsible to him and are
his partners in making the worship life of the parish run smoothly. The
practical aspect of the Altar Guild is the care of everything used in the
Sanctuary: alms, basins, bread, flowers, lights, linens and vestments.
Contact: Jean Chappell 473-5511.
BARNABAS MINISTRY
This
ministry is organized to welcome newcomers to St. David's. One or two
members will be found in the Parish Hall after 8:00 and 10:00 AM services on
Sundays, with a display of literature describing the various activities at St.
David's. They will introduce the newcomers to other members of the Church,
call the individuals each month to remind them of the Monday Night Parish
Covered Dish Supper and try to make them feel welcome. A reception is held
for the new members each year in order that they meet the Clergy, Vestry and
each other. Contact: Church Office 474-3140.
CHOIR
Anyone who
enjoys singing is invited to join our choir. They practice Wednesday evenings and
sing at the 10:00 AM service, as well as some special services.

If you can devote
some time to this most worthwhile program - to be a new set of ears to hear interesting
life stories the clients have to tell - and to play games, make crafts and participate in
sing-a-longs. We have lost several volunteers
this past year, due to illness and moving out of the area - your help would be greatly
appreciated.
EPISCOPAL CHURCH WOMEN (ECW)
The ECW meet through out the year for study, fellowship and programs
of interest. Their greatest effort is the the operation of St. David's Thrift
Shop which serves as a Outreach Ministry to both the members of St. David's
Parish and the community. The ECW is committed to many out reach projects thru
out the year.
GREETERS
This ministry is to greet newcomers at each service on Sunday and make them
feel welcome by inviting them to the coffee hour and to introduce them to the
members of the church. Envelopes with brochures and information are given to
newcomers to explain the ministries of the church.
JUST NEIGHBORS
The focus of Just neighbors is to raise
awareness of the problems of the low-income families and homeless in
Englewood. To inspire our churches, business's and social services to work
together to compile our ministries and make them known to those in need.
Just Neighbors meets once a month, usually on the last Tuesday of the month.
On the last Saturday of the month, St. David's hosts a free dinner for
low-income families, homeless and those who are alone seeking fellowship. At
the present time it is held at Foursquare Church.
LAY EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS
Assist the clergy in the distribution of the sacraments during communion. They
attend a training class and are licensed by the Bishop.
LAY EUCHARISTIC VISITORS

LECTORS

and reading the Prayers of the People during worship service.
THRIFT SHOP
The Thrift Shop is a benefit to St. David's Church and also an outreach to
the local community. Revenue from the Thrift Shop is distributed among
many worth while charities. Volunteers are always needed for various positions
with in the shop.
USHERS
